Scissor Lifts: Platform Height, Power and Self-Propelled Travel

Electric, mobile and self-propelled describe different properties. Define the access task and compare an exact model specification rather than treating these labels as capacity ratings.

Separate deck height from working height

Platform height describes the deck elevation. Working height describes the intended reach of a person from that deck and must be defined in the model sheet. Do not add a fixed allowance to an ambiguous catalog figure. Check the required work position, platform load and overhead clearance together before selecting the lift.

Power and mobility are separate choices

A battery powers the operating system but does not by itself identify the travel arrangement. A mobile or towable lift may need external repositioning, while a self-propelled lift has powered travel. Indoor suitability, elevated travel and outdoor operation remain model-specific. Review charging access, ground conditions and permitted movements in the operating documents.

Measure the route as well as the work area

Record door width and height, aisle turns, floor loading restrictions and the space needed at the work position. Compare stowed dimensions and machine weight alongside height and capacity. The current SUCCESS pages explain different selection routes; request a confirmed model sheet to establish the combination actually being quoted.
