Portable Mini Crane for Rooftop and Material Lifting

This portable mini crane is intended for rooftop lifting, renovation, floor-to-floor material movement and restricted-access work. The correct configuration depends on the load, lifting height, supporting structure and operating environment.

Main Features

  • Compact frame for transport and assembly
  • Rotating support for load positioning
  • Electric hoist with wire rope
  • Steel bracket and reinforced flange
  • Project-specific voltage and rope length

Applications

The crane supports controlled handling of compatible building materials, workshop components and maintenance loads within its rated capacity. It must not be used for lifting people. Loads must be secured and kept clear of personnel.

How to Select the Crane

Confirm the load weight, lifting height, mounting surface, boom reach, voltage, rope length and transport route. Rated capacity may change with boom position or reach, so the load chart and instructions must be checked before use.

Provide photographs or drawings of the installation area. Roofs, floors, brackets and attachment points must support the crane, counterforces and lifted load.

Pre-Use Inspection

  • Inspect the frame, boom, welds, pins and fasteners.
  • Check the hook, wire rope, drum and limit devices.
  • Test brakes, controls and emergency functions.
  • Verify the supporting surface and exclusion zone.
  • Complete a low-height test lift.

The UK Health and Safety Executive provides general lifting operations guidance covering planning, supervision and competent operators. Local requirements and the equipment manual must also be followed.

Operation and Load Control

Plan the lift before starting. Keep the load within the rated limit and avoid side pulling, shock loading and sudden movement. The operator should maintain a clear view or work with a trained signal person.

Do not move beneath a suspended load. Stop operation if the support moves, the rope winds incorrectly, the brake slips or unusual noise occurs.

Maintenance and Storage

Inspect wire ropes, hooks, bearings, brakes, hydraulic parts and electrical connections at the required intervals. Replace damaged components before use. Lubricate moving parts according to the manual and protect electrical equipment from water.

Store the crane with the boom lowered and the hook secured. Folding models should be locked in the storage position.

Rooftop Setup

A portable mini crane used on a roof requires a verified support and restraint arrangement. Check slab capacity, parapet clearance, boom rotation and the route used to bring components to the installation point.

Protect the wire rope from roof edges and keep the suspended load away from the facade. Wind, poor visibility and communication problems can make rooftop lifting unsafe.

Order Configuration

Specify the maximum load, rope length, boom reach, voltage, control type and available mounting area. The portable mini crane package should clearly identify the frame, hoist, rope, hook, controls and required fixing parts.
