Applications
The crane supports controlled handling of compatible building materials, workshop components and maintenance loads within its rated capacity. It must not be used for lifting people. Loads must be secured and kept clear of personnel.
How to Select the Crane
Confirm the maximum load at each boom position, lifting range, floor condition, folded dimensions and available storage space. Rated capacity may change with boom position or reach, so the load chart and instructions must be checked before use.
Provide photographs or drawings of the installation area. Roofs, floors, brackets and attachment points must support the crane, counterforces and lifted load.
Pre-Use Inspection
- Inspect the frame, boom, welds, pins and fasteners.
- Check the hook, wire rope, drum and limit devices.
- Test brakes, controls and emergency functions.
- Verify the supporting surface and exclusion zone.
- Complete a low-height test lift.

Operation and Load Control
Plan the lift before starting. Keep the load within the rated limit and avoid side pulling, shock loading and sudden movement. The operator should maintain a clear view or work with a trained signal person.
Do not move beneath a suspended load. Stop operation if the support moves, the rope winds incorrectly, the brake slips or unusual noise occurs.
Maintenance and Storage
Inspect wire ropes, hooks, bearings, brakes, hydraulic parts and electrical connections at the required intervals. Replace damaged components before use. Lubricate moving parts according to the manual and protect electrical equipment from water.
Store the crane with the boom lowered and the hook secured. Folding models should be locked in the storage position.
Boom Position and Capacity
A hydraulic shop crane normally has several boom positions. Maximum capacity applies only at the specified short-reach position and decreases as the boom extends. Check the marked capacity before attaching the load.
Position the hydraulic shop crane on a clean, level workshop floor. Confirm that the legs can extend beneath or around the equipment being lifted and that the load can be lowered onto a suitable stand.
Hydraulic Inspection
Check the cylinder, pump, hose connections and safety valve for leakage. Do not work beneath a load supported only by hydraulic pressure. Use approved stands or supports before maintenance begins.
